14 EASY LAST MINUTE HALLOWEEN COSTUMES FOR A BABY

TY BEANIE BABY: You can use any animal hoodie you have (bear ear ones are easy to find)! We used this hand-me-down lion costume. Then just draw out the “ty” heart, cut it out and stick it on the sweater. You can “laminate” it with masking tape if you’d like, but we just used an index card, some duct tape rolled up to create a double-sided tape effect and taped it to the ear. DONE! :)

PRESENT: This is one that my son will probably hate me for when he looks back at these photos! I used a diaper box, some tin foil (didn’t have wrapping paper in the house), some tape and stickers/bows/markers aka whatever you have lying around to decorate your present..I mean, child..haha. Bonus points because it was my Dad’s birthday and he got this cute picture of Declan as a present. DONE!

CHARLIE BROWN: Yellow onesie, black shorts, cut out a black zig zag from felt/material and get your trusty duck tape out and double side that zigzag to the onesie (or use black fabric paint if you have the time to let it dry overnight). You can also draw the little hair bit on their forehead for extra effort (I just drew it on afterwards with the Instagram stories pen tool for a picture haha). DONE!

BASKETBALL: A Basketball onesie and a baby beanie. That’s it! Perfect for a cute random photo shoot for sports-loving families as well! :)

HIPPIE: This is by far the simplest (and one of the most adorable) costumes you could put together in minutes. Jeans, tie-dye shirt, bandana around the head and a peace sign somewhere (painted on the cheek, sticker on the shirt etc). DONE.* we made a peace sign “necklace” just for this photo but I do not recommend it for obvious safety reasons. I suggest using double-sided tape to stick it onto the shirt instead. This was a 100% supervised photo shoot and the “necklace” was on for 20 seconds max. The peace sign was drawn on a piece of white paper with a black sharpie. :)

PIRATE: This is a great option for infants who still fit in an infant carrier! These are called Car Seat Cuties by @materialjill (instagram). You can see more designs and purchase one at materialjill.com

SAILOR/CAPTAIN: For those of you who prefer to buy a costume that will come quickly from Amazon, this is a great option! My mom bought this costume for Declan and we did the most adorable photo shoot with it! Here’s a link to a similar one on Amazon that offers Amazon Prime shipping!

COWBOY/SHERRIF: You basically just need a cowboy hat (I got this one in the puppy section at Walmart #momhack haha)! You can add cowboy boots (or cowboy boot socks like the ones I used here) and a bandana bib to complete the look!

OLD MAN: I used his “little lad” old man sweater outfit, got the beard from Amazon Prime, threw some Tums in for the picture and put him on his crochet baby blanket. Done. 😂

TRUCK DRIVER: I think this is my favorite one! My father and brother (and several other family members) are truck drivers. They drove, as essential workers, through everything. I love how this truck driver costume turned out! My brother drew the tractor trailer pixture. I made the “log book” and “C.B. Radio”. The beard and “dirt” on his shirt are cocoa powder. We topped this costume off with the proper attire (flannel, jeans, workbooks) and added a pen and flashlight. Declan’s Trucking at your service! :)

GHOSTBUSTER: This was “Daddy takeover night” where Ed came up with the costume! He used Declan's ghostbuster hoodie, brown pants and some Ghostbusters props to create this adorable DIY baby Ghostbusters costume. He even drew the logo on the board. Can you tell his favorite movie is Ghostbusters?! :)

TTRICK-OR-TREAT: Declan was at the doctor earlier in the day so we kept this one simple. If your baby isn’t feeling well or you just need a costume that can double as pajamas…put them in pajamas! :) These say TRICK-OR-TREAT on them so we scattered some treats around for a picture and he got to keep laying there nice and cozy in his pajamas. Simple and comfy!

LITTLE PIG: This little piggie is wearing a costume that was bought randomly for 75% off at Walmart after a past Halloween. My mom held onto it “just in case” and we decided to use it for a cute picture. Yay for last minute clearance costumes! If you have something laying around from a hand-me-down or the clearance rack, turn it into this year’s costume! :)

VIKING: On Halloween day we were a family of Vikings! A cozy outfit, another beard from Amazon Prime and another hat from the pet section of Walmart (my poor child lol)! This was such a fun costume!!
